I phoned xbox support because one of the 360 consoles got 3 red lights (the one they repaired last time!). They said they'd send me an empty box, I have to put the 360 in it and phone ups to collect it.
I received the box yesterday - opened it to put my 360 in it, and inside there was an xbox 360 already!
So moral quandry - do I phone them and tell them or do I just say nothing and keep it to use while the other one's away for repair?
If it works keep it.....I've heard about these things called morals but I don't believe they apply to me......
keep it and do as you have been instructed !
Keep it ...Its not as if M$ are short of cash and if the 360 wasn't so unreliable to start with you'd never have got the free one so its there fault for making dodgy quality consoles

Keep it - and if anyone complains, say that you thought they said they would send you a replacement to use in the mean time

Sell it to Game as a downpayment on an elite
keep it

,
then send off your xbox,
and then have two when the broken one comes back!
i have morals send it back
yes ms have plenty of money and will no doubt send another one out to the poor sod whos 360 you now have, but a) they will piss him about for ages before doing anything because their records will show it as being dispatched for return and b) their might be some form of sentimental value for that particular 360 and c) the original owner might have had some disease and you might now catch it
slappy - the voice of reason
tbh i wasnt that keen on touching it - its covered in dust and black stuff
i've left it in the box assuming it doesnt work and phoned ms to tell them
I explained what had happened, they told me I had to phone UPS and explain to them they'd delivered the wrong parcel to me. I phoned UPS, they didnt want to know, saying that MS must have dispatched the wrong box to me. I phoned MS to let them know, they said I needed to phone UPS to tell them again that they'd delivered the wrong thing...
I put down the phone, spoke to someone else at MS to tell them my empty box hadnt turned up, and I had received the wrong parcel. they've promised to send me an empty box, and will 'let me know' what to do with the full one. Honestly, no-one there gives a shit that I've got some poor bastard's 360 sitting in my hall.
and when you next speak to them you may what to suggest that they send you a free key ring to cover the expenses incurred as a result of spending an age on the phone trying to convince UPS of the fuck up as instructed to by MS
