Hi - I need a favour, has anyone got a "Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit / Cable" I could loan? Apparently they come with the Xbox 360 Elite. I got a new HDD and I need to transfer my data from the old drive. I'll pay the postage cost and promptly return it.
I don't think they do come with the Elite, I thought it was with just the stand alone 120GB drive?
if you buy an elite ms will send you a transfer cable, but they are not in the box
possible vypa, he was after one a while back i think
I've found the form you need to complete to get one, but you need to have bought an Xbox 360 Elite as replacement (it asks for serial numbers). http://www.xbox.com/NR/rdonlyres/B4E8A2D...ithfax.pdf

Maybe I could get away with a 256Mb or 512Mb memory card to transfer the data, obivously I'm not too bothered about the downloadable content which all can re-downloaded, it's just all those saved game files, some of them like Footie Manager are fairly big in size.
charlton brought an elite didnt he, perhaps he might let you use his serial number ?
some game saves wont transfer so some weird reason, that only MS can think of
I managed to find someone who has got one, apparently it can take a while to get M$ to send one out, so I'll go with loaning it.

Cheers for help
Do you have to have the disc in for every game you save to the hard drive? Its just that £99 is alot for a new hard drive but I only ever have 2 gig free on mine at the mo and that goes when I d/l a demo and being that I' still on my original 360 my disc drive is extremely noisy and gets stuck opening and closing sometimes - I was gonna wait until it goes and get myself an elite
Yes you do, you need the original game disc in the drive to launch the game.
that's no problem as we never get rid of any of the games anyway - just a pain in the arse changing the disc's
