Anything by George Pelicanos
Exile or The Race - Richard North Patterson (you've maybe read these)
Anything by Barry Eisler (First one is Rainfall)
The Lincoln Lawyer - Michael Connelly
James Lee Burke - Anything (The Neon Lane is first)
Jared Diamond - Guns, Germs and Steel
The books that are most like a computer game are by Matthew Riley, Ice Station or Contest.
Me Cheetah - autobiography of Tarzan's chimp

If you tell me what type of books you like, I can be more specific!

V
I think I need to pick up a few more books - don't recognise a single one of those authors
I read a lot, John-Paul reads even more, between us we pwn Amazon!
Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy is a great read imo
Can only read sci-fi, as its the only thing that seems to hold my attention.

currently reading the saga of the seven suns by Kevin J Anderson, which currently stretches to about 7 books.

If you want more single books from a great author try Alastair Reynolds
there's no rhyme or reason behind what i read, i just end up with the urge to read, ordered:

72 Virgins
The Lincoln Lawyer
Time Bomb
Empire of Dragons
An Utterly Impartial History of Britain: (or 2000 Years of Upper Class Idiots in Charge)
Horizon Storms
how's your reading going slappy?

i have a copy of me cheeta if you did fancy it i can send over
I had a look the other day - nothing caught my attention - maybe the two new Iain M Banks ones - Matter and ...........????
Empire of Dragons about half way through, fictional story based on opinions of supposed facts on possible interactions between china and the roman empire, good basis because the author is well versed greek/roman times though his other books but poor translation so disappointed
72 virgins 3 quarters read pretty mindless terrorist plot with a see through plot but i like mindless and so have enjoyed it

Not started the others going to read Time Bomb next i think

i'd have taken up your offer vikki but its been brought for me already for christmas, but thanks anyway

Just finished this one a week or 2 ago, was a pretty good book to keep in the bathroom and read bits at a time.
