ive been catching up on a great deal of films this past few months while working away into the small hours so in no particular order:
The Smurfs - crap didn't bother watching past the first 20mins Smurfette has been made ugly, the puppet variants Gargamel used in the first 20mins were better characters than the CGI
Green Lantern - really enjoyed, dont care what the expert reviewers say (usually something about it being for 12 year olds, poorly written, flat characters, not true to the comic etc) i like it therefore i must be 12. Its not meant to be the fucking Shawshank Redemption its a comic book movie
Thor - i thought it wasnt as well connected as the above but i'd actually rate it higher than the Green Lantern. Again its a comic book movie so expect a comic book film for 12 year olds.
The Devil's Double - excellent, i dont know whether its meant to be accurate or inspired fiction based on reality. It certainly fits the bill of what we would believe as western folk reading/watching in our media and thus was an enjoyable portrayal to watch.
Final Destination 5 - more of the same didnt bring anything new to the concept dont know why i expected it to but for me it meant it was shit. Perhaps if it had been a good 10 years and this was a reboot i would have liked it but it wasnt so i didnt.
Unknown - excellent, concept, acting, script etc just a proper film all round not some classic oscar winner but just a fucking good film
Killer Elite - Concept should have been a winner for me but everything else about it just failed so i switched it off after 30-40mins
Mega mind - i dont want to compare it to the likes of Shrek, toys story, monsters inc but its an animation so it always will be in which case it falls short on many levels. On its own though not compared its a good easy and well done animation that gets down marked unfairly for not being one of the big guns
Paul - mixed bag i wanted to like it but think to much exposure had lead to me knowing all the gags or certainly being able to see the gags coming a mile off. Still enjoyable and Paul was really well scripted and definitely what the little grey men should be like should they ever visit
Inbetweeners - i do like the series but this was dreadful, perhaps it was meant to seem like it was hashed together but the script was way below par and so for me they were just cashing in on the popularity of the show. One to miss stick with the series repeats instead.
