Drag what site you use?
I use torrant spy and sometimes it takes ages, so I give up - and before Joe gives it about my connection I have 24 meg download - which whenever I test it, is at least d/l at 12-13 megs

You with Bethere then phil ? Looks good 24mb download and 1.3 upload for £24 so im looking at joining em as i live near to telephone exchange im with Telewest atm and though its going upgrade to 20mb soon its like £40+ and they've just starting throttling connections
My connection runs ok but still getting rid soon i think.

Cheers Throttle, I use thepiratebay as well, but will give the other 2 a go.
Yeap I use Bethere, connections are good. always test 1.1meg upload and 12-13 meg download.
Only problem with them is their own brand router (rebadged Thomson Speedtouch ST716v5 WL), its a ADSL2+ Modem, 4 port Ethernet switch, 54M wireless access point with 2 VoIP adapters.
1st 6 months no problem, I was even able to host a room of 12 with Kekie sharing it and get all green pings when RB6V 1st came out, then it started overheating (known problem), then I had loads of problems with it, locking up, dropping connections, losing my IP etc. Cant host a room if kekies playing without getting a few yellow pings and a bit of lag was the result after I updated to the latest but 1 firmware.
Then the wireless part fucked up, no matter what channel, it can't hold a connection to either my laptop or the Wii for more then a few minutes (if I set it to channel 11 the Wii can stay connected for about half a day). Funny thing is if I turn off all the wireless stuff in the house, the router broadcasts wirelessly for days? (Someone work that one out - cos spanky couldnt)
Phoned Bethere = update drivers and firmware (even though latest version is not 100% compatable with Vista) - did that, problem still there. Phoned em back - problem must be with my laptop and wii they said. So thats my brand new Sony laptop and Nintendo Wii thats to blame and not your shitty overheating router; I said. I then asked for a new router and they said No.
Looking at buying my own router now. Bethere have kindly put a list on the Bethere Forums of all the wellknown ADSL2+ routers that work 100% with their service, and a second list that they say is 'compatable"
I asked spanky to have a look and pick the best one out for me to buy - still waiting.

Hmmm id guess at it has be a faulty router then otherwise there'd be loads people with wii and sony laptops with same troubles which would no doubt get sorted then with bad news everywhere about them not working.
My uncle has Sky 16mb and gets about 14mb and doesnt live as near to the exchange as i do so i should in theory get better with bethere ...im assuming lol
Thanks for the info though
i suppose at worst situation i buy a better router if i need too but as i'll be paying almost half the price for broadband for more speed then im currently paying so id be ok buying it if i have too
